World Listening Day
We are listening to the changing sounds of flowing water from its babbling infancy to boisterous youth, tumultuous mid-life before we plunge over a waterfall and submerge ourselves to listen beneath the Hoh River’s surface. Sounds travel 10 times more efficiently in water than air. We hear many small stones pushed by the river’s currents and occasionally the loud thuds of rolling underwater boulders.
